Chef-owner Jimmy Nicholson started durangourmet with the goal of applying his more than twenty years experience in restaurants worldwide towards the creation of an exceptional full-service catering company for Durango and surrounding areas.

Jimmy received his formal culinary education in Auckland, New Zealand, where his training focused on classic French cuisine and fresh Pacific seafood. He honed his skills in restaurants, hotels, and resorts in London, Australia, Scotland, and Breckenridge, Colorado.
